Do you accept American Express?
Yes, we accept American Express cards but we do charge a fee of 3.5% for this service. However, no extra fee is charged for Visa or MasterCard.
Can I rent a car or bike for only a few hours?
Yes, you can rent a car or bike for a few hours but the minimum charge is 1 day rental.
How old do I have to be if I want to rent a car or bike?
The minimum age to hire a vehicle with us is 21 years.
What happens if I return my car or bike a few hours late?
Extra hours on your rental are calculated at 1/5 of the daily rate up until the 5th hour when a full day rate will apply.
What happens with fuel?
The vehicle is rented with a full tank and you must return the vehicle with a full tank of fuel. (Extra charges will apply for vehicle returned not full)
Do I have to pay a bond when renting a vehicle with Avis?
Yes, you are required to leave a bond with us when renting any one of our vehicles, see list below;

If leaving a cash bond, this is refunded at the end of the rental provided vehicle is full of petrol and no damage has been caused during rental.
Is insurance included in the rate?
Yes, standard insurance is included in the rental rate with an excess of $2000 regardless of who is at fault. You may wish to purchase the Excess reduction for $10 per day - this reduces the excess of $2000 to $500. The standard insurance for motorbikes is also included in the rate with an excess of $1000 regardless of who is at fault. A collision damage waiver is not available for motorbikes. No insurance cover exists for bicycles.
Is there a breakdown service?
Yes, our breakdown service is available from 8am to 10pm 7 days a week even on public holidays.
Is there an extra charge for picking up and dropping off a vehicle to the airport?
Yes, a surcharge of $25.00 each way applies to all cars / vans picked up and dropped off to the airport.
Can I pick up or drop off a motorbike, scooter or bicycle at the airport?
Unfortunately, no an airport pick up or drop off is not permitted for motorbikes, scooters and bicycles.
